I brought my 2016 Subaru Impreza in for a state inspection and was handed a highly questionable and inflated quote. They tried charging me excessive labor to replace my front struts, calculating the time as if the mechanic had to manually compress the springs. However, I looked up the exact part numbers they provided, and they were pre-loaded 'QuickStruts' which take a fraction of the time to install. I ran the estimate through an AI tool to check their math, and it immediately flagged massive markups, unreasonable labor times, and directed me to fairer local shops. To make matters worse, one of the mechanics actually tried to cut a shady, under-the-table deal with me. He offered to only put half the work through the shop in exchange for slapping a passing inspection sticker on my car. This place operates with zero integrity. This is a predatory shop, and I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere.
Hey Thomas, We appreciate you for choosing us for your vehicle Subaro Impreza 2016 for state inspection, however we do not appreciate here getting advise from so called AI. Usually, customer who have doubt about the estimates get 2nd, 3rd, and 4th estimate from different shops and come back to us due the affordable labor rates we have. We use the labor guide from industry standard software not an AI agent because we are not there yet where an AI is going to fix your car physically. Our physical workman power who uses the auto industry's labor guide from 3 reputed and subscribed places ALLDATA, IDENTIFIX, AND PRODEMAND to make sure we are not over charging our customers. We are sorry the out come of the inspection did not please you however we are still here to help you any way.
